Position Summary: Hope Headache and Neurology is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with various neurological disorders, with a strong focus on headache conditions. This is an excellent opportunity for an APP who is passionate about neurology and is eager to contribute in a specialized practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations.
- Formulate differential diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising neurologists.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including neuroimaging (e.g., MRI, CT) and laboratory studies.
- Prescribe medications, including headache-specific therapies, and manage medication regimens.
- Provide patient education on headache management, lifestyle modifications, and treatment options.
- Perform therapeutic procedures within scope of practice (e.g., trigger point injections, nerve blocks, neurotoxin treatments β training provided if needed).
- Document patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner within the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with the supervising neurologists, MAs, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in continuing medical education and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the State of Missouri.
- Master's degree (or higher) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Board certification (ANCC, AANP, NCCPA).
- DEA registration or ability to obtain.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, with experience in neurology, pain management, or a related specialty preferred. New graduates with a strong interest and relevant rotations will be considered.
- Demonstrated knowledge of common neurological conditions, particularly headaches and migraines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
