Position Summary
The Associate Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization’s financial integrity through accurate preparation, review, and recording of accounting transactions and account reconciliations. This role ensures compliance with reporting standards and internal controls, daily and month transaction recording, and contributes to timely month-end, quarterly, and year-end close processes. The position works closely with internal and external stakeholders and cross-departmental teams.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Record daily cash transactions
- Participate in monthly natural gas wellhead purchases distribution process
- Coordinate monthly gas supply invoice actualization with gas supply and accounts payable team
- Assist in investigating GL coding discrepancies with budget and accounts payable team
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and variance analysis
- Assist in documenting accounting procedures and controls
- Perform appropriate accounting controls
- Participate in month-end closing, quarterly and year-end financial reporting activities
- Interact with internal and external customers

- Serve as an Individual Contributor without supervisory responsibilities.
- Support and contribute towards team goals and objectives.

Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong computer skills, including MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of internal controls documentation
- Understanding of accounting information systems
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong analytical ability and organization skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices and procedures
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field OR
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent AND
- At least 4 years of experience in accounting or related field
