Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Adult Training Instructor to support individuals in our Adult Training Program. This role focuses on delivering structured activities, developing life skills, and promoting independence in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans based on participant goals (ISPs)
- Facilitate daily educational and life skills activities
- Track progress and complete required documentation (daily data, monthly notes)
- Support participants with activities of daily living as needed
- Ensure proper use of equipment and adherence to care plans
- Plan and participate in community-based activities and outings
- Collaborate with team members to provide consistent, high-quality care
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field preferred
(or 4 years of relevant experience) - Experience with lesson planning, group facilitation, or classroom management
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Requirements
- Ability to assist with lifting and physical support of participants as needed
- Ability to pass background checks in accordance with NJ Department of Human Services
- Compliance with Central Registry and Child Abuse Registry requirements
- Pre-employment and random drug screening
- Completion of required trainings (CPR/First Aid, College of Direct Support, etc.)
