Overview:
Hope Christian School (HCS) is a Christ-centered private educational institution serving grades K-8 and is dedicated to nurturing students academically, spiritually, and socially while maintaining a high level of commitment to Christian values and principles.
The leadership role of the Principal will ensure that the school operates in accordance with HCS's mission, while providing oversight to faculty, supporting student achievement, and fostering a positive and safe school environment.
The Principal is expected to be a highly motivated educational leader with the ability to build relationships, solve problems, and inspire continual individual and institutional growth. Student retention and student recruitment will be among the many objectives of this role.
This position will report directly to the Education Ministry Team and will work closely with the Vice Principal and Director of Finance and HR.
This candidate must have a personal relationship with Christ Jesus through verbal testimony and lifestyle, and a clear calling to Christian education and ministry. They must agree with the doctrinal positions of Hope Christian Church; adhere to the Constitution and By-Laws of the church, the school handbooks, and meet all general requirements of the church and school. Therefore, we ask that this individual become an attendee of Hope Christian Church, as this position is a ministry of the church and the school.
Requirements and key responsibilities:
Oversee the implementation of curriculum, which we currently use Abeka, and instructional strategies that meet the diverse needs of students and align with HCS’s academic standards while maintaining awareness of changes in the general education field.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate faculty and staff, ensuring that instructional practices meet our high standards of excellence.
Foster a supportive and collaborative environment among faculty, encouraging continuous improvement and promoting Christ-centered education.
Address student disciplinary issues in a manner that reflects HCS’s Christian values, promoting a positive and respectful school climate.
Ensure that students are prepared for future academic success through a well-rounded and challenging educational experience.
Promote a culture of discipleship and Christian character development, providing spiritual guidance to students and staff.
Participate in school events, activities, including chapels, devotions, and service projects.
Schedule and prepare the yearly school calendar.
Implement necessary school closures due to inclement weather, etc.
Coordinate Orientation/Open House and Graduation Activities.
Work with the Director of Finance and HR regarding employee and student handbook annual updates.
Ensure daily school devotions are held each morning for those who want to participate.
Schedule staff/employee meetings when necessary.
Maintain various accreditation statuses for the school.
Provide a written report on school ministries, finances, and related matters to the church at regular Church Business Conferences.
Submit a proposed school budget (working with the Director of Finance and HR) to the Education Ministry Team by May for the following school year. The final budget is to be presented at the Church Business Conference each July.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts in Education
Minimum 5 years of teaching experience
Master's degree in educational leadership or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of school leadership experience is required
Proven experience in education administration is preferred
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Pay: $51,500.00 - $55,000.00 per year
