Job Title:            Outpatient Therapist (Child or Adult)

 

Special Notes:  This position has the potential to operate on a hybrid schedule with some onsite and some remote days/times depending on the needs of clients and the agency.  Hope Center for Children will complete insurance paneling submissions and update.  This position has no direct billing responsibilities. This position is full-time, salaried, working an average of 40 hours per week.

Qualifications: Master’s Degree in social work, counseling or related field with clinical licensure active in South Carolina and a minimum of two years of experience post-licensure required.  LPC, LMFT, or LISW-CP is required for this position.  


Principle Responsibilities: The Therapist is responsible for delivering quality therapy, managing and minimizing risks by maintaining accurate documentation, and building internal and external partnerships.


Reports to: Director of Clinical Support Services


Scope: This full time, salaried (W2) position provides therapy within the Clinical Support Services arm of Hope Center for Children (HCFC), ensuring that trauma informed therapy services are more readily available to children and families in high stress, high risk situations and children and caregivers in foster or kinship care now or in the past. The therapist ensures compliance with Medicaid, COA, and other applicable documentation standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapy to outpatient clients on case load, dependent on individual needs, with the expectation of 20 to 25 billable hours per week.
  • Ensure the use of valid, reliable assessment tools and documentation per accreditation/insurance standards. 
  • Ensure that all services provided are sensitive to the culture and individual needs of each client served.
  • Prepare timely progress notes of each visit as required for billing purposes
  • Prepare all other required documentation according to insurance standards.
  • Maintains own professional liability insurance
  • Other duties as assigned.

Necessary characteristics:  The successful therapist is committed to positive changes in clients and is able to develop strong relationships; takes the therapeutic relationship and trauma needs of the client seriously; has strong clinical and documentation skills.   A desire for professional growth as evidenced by staying aware of current best practice standards and therapy approaches.  Strong customer service, personal accountability,  and critical thinking skills are essential.  It is important that the therapist is highly organized and demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary : $55,000
