Summary:
The Group Home Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting. This role provides hands-on assistance, promotes independence, and encourages personal growth through daily support, skill development, and community involvement. DSPs foster a respectful, safe, and empowering environment where individuals can achieve their goals.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and protect the health, safety, rights, and dignity of individuals receiving services while following person-centered care principles.
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living, personal care, skill development, behavior support, and community participation in alignment with individualized service plans.
- Observe and support individuals’ physical and emotional well-being, assist with medication administration as required, and report any incidents, concerns, or rights-related issues promptly.
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely, including daily notes, medication records, and activity logs, while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Maintain professional conduct at all times, participate in required trainings and meetings, safely use assigned equipment, and perform additional duties as needed to support program operations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a group home setting (preferred).
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Dependable and punctual
- Reliable transportation
Schedule
- PRN, as needed
- Must be available: Monday - Friday from 7pm - 7am
- Every other weekend
