Mental Health Therapist (LCSW/LPC)

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our family-centered healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will support individuals facing a variety of mental health challenges, from developmental disabilities to trauma and grief. You will conduct assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapies in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
• Provide individual, group, family, and crisis intervention counseling tailored to the unique needs of each client.
• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster motivation for change and enhance treatment engagement.
• Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management strategies, ensuring safety and stabilization for clients experiencing acute distress or trauma.
• Maintain detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medical records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Conduct intake assessments for new clients, ensuring thorough understanding of client history and presenting issues.
• Engage in clinical research activities when applicable to stay current with emerging best practices in mental health treatment.

Skills

• Proven expertise in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, and behavior management strategies.
• Strong working knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation.
• Experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), geriatrics, or patients with chronic pain conditions.
• Skilled in crisis intervention and crisis management to handle emergency situations effectively.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote patient care delivery.
• Ability to conduct patient assessments using medical terminology while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.
• Excellent case management skills to coordinate services across multiple providers and support systems.
• Knowledge of special education needs when working with pediatric populations or individuals with disabilities.
