Job Overview
Hoosier Foundations Inc. is seeking a motivated and dependable Laborer to join our concrete foundations crew. In this hands-on role, you will support form setting, footings, foundations, flatwork, and related site work on residential and commercial projects across northern Indiana and Michigan. Your reliability, physical stamina, and focus on efficiency will help keep our crews productive and our work high quality. This is a solid opportunity to build real skills in concrete construction with a well-established local company.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform heavy lifting and material handling to support form setting, concrete placement, and site preparation
- Assist with building and stripping concrete forms for footings, foundations, and flatwork
- Help place and finish concrete, including spreading, leveling, and basic finishing tasks
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment (skid steers, forklifts, or similar) to move materials and support crew operations
- Handle rebar, mesh, and other reinforcement materials as directed
- Follow blueprints, layout marks, and instructions from the crew lead or superintendent
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Strictly follow all safety protocols and participate in required safety training
- Assist with general labor tasks as needed across residential and commercial foundation projects
Requirements
- Previous construction, concrete, or outdoor labor experience preferred
- Ability to perform heavy physical work for extended periods in all weather conditions
- Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and basic construction equipment
- Strong focus on safety and willingness to follow established job-site protocols
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute to our LaGrange shop. Can also directly commute to sites throughout the northern Indiana area (LaGrange, Elkhart, Goshen, Shipshewana, and surrounding communities) and Michigan
- Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a crew
- Prior experience with concrete forms, footings, or flatwork is a plus but not required — we are willing to train the right person
