What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mill/Yard Worker position at Hoosac Valley Farmers Exchange?
Feed Manufacturing, Warehouse, Truck Loader, Yard Labor
Job Summary: Organize, perform, and complete the manufacturing of Hoosac Valley Feed to order, assist customers.
Organize and perform assigned tasks for manufacturing including, but not limited to:
- Operate manufacturing equipment, including scales, fork trucks, bagging systems
- Add ingredients into mixes as formula requires
- Label, stack and or shrink wrap pallets
- Assist in loading customers as needed
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment including lubrication and adjustments
- Clean the mill on regular schedule
- Manage ingredient inventory levels
- Load and unload trucks
- Unloading train cars
- Palletizing bulk goods
- Pulling orders
- Assist with any other tasks as requested or assigned by management
Physical and Education Requirements:
- Math comprehension and previous manufacturing is preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. repeatedly
- Need to bend, kneel, and stand for long periods
- Able to work in confined spaces
- Willing to work long hours in demanding environments (hot, cold temperatures and dusty conditions).
- Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment

Position offers a benefit package
40 hours per week standard, overtime is available during the busy months 6 days per week. The busy season typically lasts 4 – 5months. Saturdays required as needed
Pay: $24.13 - $29.06 per hour
