We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our growing legal team. As an Associate Attorney, you will play a vital role in managing the firm's litigation docket, developing case strategy, conducting in-depth legal research, drafting and reviewing persuasive legal documents, supervising case development, participating in settlement negotiations, and appearing in court as needed.

Duties
- Assist in managing and supervising the firm's civil litigation matters from initial evaluation through resolution
- Consult with prospective clients to understand their legal concerns, identify relevant facts, and evaluate potential claims, defenses, and legal options
- Evaluate prospective matters to determine legal merit, litigation risk, available defenses, potential strategy, and whether the matter is an appropriate fit for the firm
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, summary judgment motions, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and analyze substantive, procedural, and evidentiary issues
- Develop litigation strategy in collaboration with the firm's managing attorney
- Manage discovery and ensure compliance with procedural requirements and litigation deadlines
- Communicate and negotiate with opposing counsel regarding settlements, discovery disputes, and case resolution
- Evaluate settlement proposals and advise clients regarding litigation and settlement options
- Prepare for hearings, trials, mediations, and other court proceedings
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trials as necessary
- Review evidence and identify weaknesses, defenses, and potential arguments
- Supervise and guide paralegals and support staff working on litigation matters
- Maintain organized and accurate case files and ensure matters progress efficiently
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and members of the firm's legal team
Experience & Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; Active license to practice law in Texas and good standing with the State Bar of Texas are required
- Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
- Strong understanding of Texas civil litigation procedure, or demonstrated ability to quickly develop practical litigation skills
- Experience handling discovery, hearings, trials, or settlement negotiations is preferred
- Prior experience representing creditors, debt collectors, financial institutions, or other plaintiffs in collection-related civil litigation is highly valued but not required.
- Experience in breach of contract, construction-related litigation, or other civil disputes is also valued
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities
- Ability to supervise and review work performed by paralegals and legal support staff
- Professional judgment, initiative, and a strong sense of responsibility toward clients and the firm

Compensation & Schedule
$90,000–$125,000 base salary, plus bonus, depending on experience and qualifications.
Full-time, in-person position in Austin, Texas. Some travel to courthouses and satellite offices is required.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
