Utility Associate- Finishing Department

HF Custom, a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation (NASDAQ: HOFT), is currently recruiting a for a Utility Associate to work in our Bedford, VA location. Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 101st year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets.
The Position:
We are looking for a dependable individual with a great attention to detail to join our Utility Team in our finishing department. This candidate will work in our finishing department as a sander and work independently.
Main duties include, but are not limited to:
- Learning how to dry brush and apply proper finish to completed frames.
- Assisting with moving completed frames from one department to another using carts and dollies.
- Filling in at the sanding booth with additional sanding assistance is needed.
- Carrying out detailed written and oral instructions, and problem solving.
- Standing for majority of shift, frequently walking; reaching with hands and arms.
