What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Diesel Mechanic position at Hook-N-Haul?

Based in Medina County, our mechanics work both on the road and in the shop, providing top-notch truck fleet maintenance across Akron, Mansfield, Canton, and Richfield. We offer flexible shifts to fit your lifestyle Choose from 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts with options for days, nights, and weekends. Diesel Mechanics will also be part of a rotating on-call weekend schedule to handle emergency repairs.
THE TYPE OF CANDIDATE WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 1 year(s) of heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience (Class 8)
- Your own tools
- Experience with heavy-duty tire repair or replacement
- Strong communication skills
- Good sense of humor, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well with others
Possession of an ASE diesel certification or a Class A CDL is a plus. Road service experience is also a plus.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AS A MOBILE DIESEL MECHANIC
As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic, you will travel to fleet yards or roadside breakdowns, diagnosing and repairing Class 8 trucks and trailers to get them back in service. If a job requires more than mobile repairs, you will either get the vehicle roadworthy or arrange for a tow to our fully equipped shop in Medina County, where you will complete major repairs like engine work, wiring, HVAC, and computer diagnostics. Throughout the day, you will document all maintenance and repairs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Whether it's changing heavy-duty tires, troubleshooting electrical issues, or handling emergency roadside calls, every day will bring something new.
