Background:
HRCSD is seeking to hire two(2) Summer School Secretary 1s for the 2026 Summer School Program. We will be running a PreK-7 grade Summer School Program at Mid Valley Elementary School and we will also run a 8-12 grade High School Program at Hood River Valley High School. Summer School inservice will be July 1st & 2nd and class will run in July 6-24. Hours will be 6-8 hours per day depending on finalized schedules. Some hours may be needed in June to prepare for summer school. Staff must be available for ALL days of summer school as well as required inservice days. The number and type of positions are dependent on funding and student enrollment. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
The duties of Summer School Secretary 1 includes providing clerical support to assigned personnel; communicating information to staff, the public, and other districts; orienting assigned personnel to their job requirements; ensuring compliance with financial, legal and administrative requirements; and providing information and/or direction as may be requested.
The number and type of positions is dependent on funding and student enrollment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Skills to operate standard office equipment including telecommunication equipment and basic computer applications, google suite.
- Use English in both written and verbal form, use correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations related to assigned functions, recordkeeping, standard office equipment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly desired; preference will be given to Secretary applicants who are bilingual.
Pay will be based on the 2026/27 Classified Salary Schedule. If you are currently a Secretary 1, you will receive your Secretary hourly pay; if you are not in a Secretary 1, you will be paid step 1 of the Secretary 1 classification for the hours you work for Summer School.
