Sit-down Forklift Operator - 2nd and 3rd shifts

About the Role

The Sit-down Forklift Operator for the 2nd and 3rd shifts is a critical role at our durable goods manufacturing facility in Atlanta, Georgia. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials, directly contributing to the overall productivity and operational success of the company..

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating sit-down forklifts to load, unload, and transport raw materials, finished products, and supplies.
• Collaborating with warehouse and production teams to maintain smooth workflow and inventory accuracy.
• Ensuring safety and adherence to all company protocols while operating heavy equipment in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials between storage, production, and shipping areas.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
• Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of materials moved and assist with inventory management as needed.
• Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a secure work environment.
• Coordinate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.
• Assist in organizing warehouse space to optimize storage and accessibility.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid forklift operator certification or license.
• Minimum of 2 years experience operating sit-down forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Experience lifting units that are not on a pallet.
• Ability to work the 2nd and 3rd shifts schedule reliably.
• Basic understanding of warehouse safety standards and protocols (Safety Compliance is essential).
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing, and operating machinery for extended periods (Physical Stamina and Manual Dexterity).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in durable goods manufacturing or similar industry.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
• Additional certifications related to workplace safety or equipment operation.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment (Teamwork).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills to coordinate with multiple departments.
