Job summary
The Business Integration Specialist serves as the strategic lead for a healthcare data and population health initiative leveraging Health Information Exchange (HIE) capabilities. This role is focused on leadership, stakeholder engagement, project oversight, policy development, financial management, and program implementation rather than technical development.
The ideal candidate will possess strong project leadership experience, healthcare data ecosystem knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary lead for initiatives leveraging Health Information Exchange (HIE) platforms, including project planning, implementation, and future-phase strategy development.
- Develop and execute policy, operational, and financial strategies supporting provider participation and program objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, HIE authorities, Medicaid teams, technology experts, and vendors.
- Gather, analyze, and synthesize stakeholder feedback to support informed decision-making and program improvements.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across multiple departments and organizations.
- Supervise and mentor 1-2 staff members supporting project initiatives.
- Manage project budgets, invoices, contracts, and financial reporting activities.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and aligned with organizational goals.
- Support population health, quality improvement, and healthcare data initiatives through strategic planning and execution.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with healthcare data ecosystems, data policy, health information technology, program monitoring, quality measurement, or quality improvement.
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading large, complex projects.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- 2 years of experience managing or supervising staff.
- Familiarity with Medicaid programs, healthcare regulations, policies, and standards.
- Experience analyzing population health, care delivery models, care management programs, quality improvement initiatives, and healthcare system redesign.
- Understanding of clinical workflows, electronic health records (EHRs), and medical coding.
