Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, including host/hostess responsibilities when needed
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff
- Serve food, cocktails, wine, spirits, and other beverages efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
- Upsell menu items including specialty drinks or desserts to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Process sales transactions accurately, handle cash or credit card payments, and manage cash handling responsibilities with integrity
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Provide excellent guest relations through attentive service, addressing questions about menu items like food preparation or wine knowledge
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience or food service background with a focus on fine dining preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle diverse situations gracefully
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while multitasking seamlessly
- Basic math skills for order accuracy and cash handling; experience with cashiering is advantageous
- Culinary or spirits experience that enhances your ability to upsell or recommend menu items confidently
- Hospitality or guest services background that emphasizes guest relations and memorable experiences
