Duties
- Perform tree pruning, trimming, and removal using advanced techniques such as rigging and bucket operation to ensure safety and health of trees.
- Operate bucket trucks and other specialized equipment safely and efficiently for elevated work.
- Conduct comprehensive tree assessments using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to map and analyze tree health and landscape conditions.
- Implement landscape maintenance tasks including lawn care, planting, mulching, and overall landscaping to enhance aesthetic appeal.
- Apply horticultural knowledge to diagnose tree diseases, pests, or deficiencies, recommending appropriate treatments or interventions.
- Assist with land clearing projects, ensuring proper disposal of debris while adhering to safety standards.
- Support growing experience in arboriculture by participating in ongoing training related to tree care practices and landscape management.
- Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving tree care, landscaping, or land management initiatives.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including rigging procedures, equipment usage, and site conditions for accountability and future reference.
Experience
- Proven experience in arboriculture or related fields such as horticulture, landscaping, or lawn care is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with tree trimming, pruning techniques, and general tree care practices.
- Familiarity with rigging methods used for safe tree removal or branch lowering operations.
- Competence in operating bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment safely.
- Knowledge of GIS applications for mapping or assessing landscape features is a plus.
- Prior work involving landscape maintenance or land clearing projects is advantageous.
- Growing experience in arboriculture or horticulture through internships or entry-level roles is welcomed.
