Are you passionate about chocolate and eager to share your enthusiasm with others? Honoka’a Chocolate is seeking a friendly, motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our team! In this role, you will support management and fellow team members by handling retail sales, providing exceptional customer service, and learning all about the world of chocolate—from its origins to how it’s crafted.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome customers in a warm and professional manner.
- Provide product samples and share detailed flavor analysis with customers.
- Communicate company messaging and educate customers about Honoka’a Chocolate’s history and mission.
- Assist customers in selecting products and drive sales through engagement and product knowledge.
- Answer customer questions and provide outstanding service.
- Process financial transactions, including cash, and credit/debit cards.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, restock inventory, and maintain a clean, organized storefront.
- Assist with inventory management, shipping, and receiving.
- Alert management to potential security issues and follow all safety protocols.
- Keep customers informed about promotions and new merchandise.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Desire to learn about chocolate and the cacao industry.
- Ability to communicate company mission, values, and product knowledge effectively.
- Dependable, punctual, and reliable transportation.
- Strong verbal communication skills in English.
- Basic math skills and ability to use a calculator.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
- Prior customer service or sales experience is a plus, but not required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 0–1 year of retail experience desired.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to use retail software (Square, Shopify, Fareharbor, Microsoft Office, etc.).
- Professional appearance and adherence to dress code standards.
- Ability to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
- Open to feedback and continuous improvement.
