We are seeking a hands-on and motivated HR Generalist to support the day-to-day human resources operations of our U.S. entity. This role will cover a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, HR operations, policy implementation, benefits administration, and recruitment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who is looking to grow into a broader HR leadership role over time. The role will work closely with senior management, with clear guidance and direction provided, while progressively taking on more ownership as the organization continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle Management
Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation, system updates, and employee communications
Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data (e.g., ADP TotalSource)
Support payroll coordination and ensure data accuracy in partnership with external providers
2. Employee Relations
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries and day-to-day HR matters
Support handling of employee relations issues, including performance concerns, investigations, and terminations, with guidance from management when needed
Promote a positive and compliant workplace environment
3. Policy Implementation & Compliance
Assist in implementing and maintaining HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook
Ensure compliance with federal, state (especially California), and local employment laws
Support documentation and internal control processes as part of company governance initiatives
4. Compensation & Benefits Administration
Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), HSA/FSA, etc.
Support open enrollment and respond to employee benefit-related questions
Assist with compensation review and bonus administration processes
5. Talent Acquisition
Support full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and offer preparation
Partner with hiring managers and external recruiters to ensure timely hiring
Help deliver a positive candidate experience
6. Cross-Functional & Cross-Border Collaboration
Work closely with internal stakeholders across HR, Finance, and Operations
Support coordination with global headquarters on HR-related matters when applicable
Assist in localizing global policies and practices for U.S. compliance
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
4–7 years of HR experience, preferably in biotech, life sciences, or a growing organization
Solid understanding of U.S. employment laws, especially California labor regulations
Hands-on experience in HR operations, employee relations, and benefits administration
Experience with HRIS systems (ADP TotalSource preferred)
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating in a cross-functional environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a startup or scaling environment
Exposure to cross-border or global organizations
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus
