This Role is Accountable for the purchase direct materials to ensure the companies operational needs are met, considering price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply. The Sr. Buyer will be the frontline communication for a specific group of vendors/commodities. Responsibilities include monitoring supplier performance, reviewing inventory levels, issuing purchase orders, and working with strategic buyers/ commodity managers on negotiating material costs. The Sr. Buyer will directly interact with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and monitor purchase requisitions
- Place Po’s, confirm PO’s and confirm shipment to desired date.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations/ supplier assessments
- Identify cost reduction opportunities, ensure stable sources of supply.
- Deal with invoice discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with strategic procurement
