Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to mechanical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means for improving products and technologies, and the techniques and procedures used to design and validate them. You will design products to meet customer needs while ensuring product quality and manufacturability at the lowest possible cost and weight. In addition to analysis and design work, you will direct the building and testing of prototype and early production hardware and will serve as a project manager for smaller development projects. Your work will be integral to satisfying current customers and securing future business by consistently meeting or exceeding Voice of Customer requirements.
You will design and analyze acoustic aspects of gas turbine engine components including source noise (e.g. fan/compressor, core, and jet noise), and acoustic treatment (e.g. liners, mufflers), using both 3rd party and custom software to perform acoustic simulations that inform design decisions. You will mentor junior acoustics engineers in acoustic design, simulation, and testing, and will serve as a primary contact with both internal and external customers. It is expected that you initiate and secure collaborative technology development efforts with universities and research centers to leverage their capabilities for advancement of our products.
