Honeywell International Inc. is seeking candidates for an exciting opportunity as a Sr. Export Compliance Officer for Compliance Sustainment reporting to the Director of Export & Sanctions, Compliance Sustainment within Honeywell Aerospace’s Compliance Center of Excellence. The Compliance Sustainment program involves monitoring compliance-related activity both within the Compliance teams and by business or functional personnel throughout Honeywell’s business operations. The Sr. Export Compliance Officer for Compliance Sustainment will be engaged in a wide range of compliance assurance activities specifically focused on ensuring compliance with U.S. laws and regulations for export, trade sanctions, and anti-money laundering; and enhancing the function’s overall compliance program. The Sr. Export Compliance Officer for Compliance Sustainment will be engaged in a wide range of compliance assurance activities specifically focused on ensuring compliance with U.S. laws and regulations for export, trade sanctions, and anti-money laundering; and enhancing the function’s overall compliance program. Specific areas of testing and monitoring focus include:
- Management of government authorizations
- Usage of proper systems for transferring technical information
- Transaction/third-party screening across all the areas of compliance – export, trade sanctions, and anti-money laundering
- Data governance, particularly as related to identification and management of controlled data in different business system environments
- Proper usage of systems for approving sourcing and manufacturing transitions
- Effective integration of acquired businesses into Honeywell’s export compliance, trade sanctions, and anti-money laundering practices
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Standardizing and automating compliance sustainment assessments across countries, businesses, and legal entities
- Performing transaction testing and business data analysis
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive mapping of compliance risks and existing control measures to be tested under the program
- Attaining and applying knowledge of business systems and control systems that house relevant data related to compliance activities
- Designing, updating, and implementing testing methods to measure the effectiveness of compliance controls
- Designing, updating, and communicating a risk assessment framework to illustrate the nature and severity of vulnerabilities, consistent with firmwide enterprise risk management frameworks
- Actively participating in developing and implementing sustainable corrective actions arising from compliance assurance evaluations, as well as other investigations and audits
- Developing metrics, key performance indicators, and key risk indicators based on the compliance assessments
- Proactively identifying, evaluating, and managing export risks in a way that enables Honeywell to deliver sustainable business growth
- Supporting the development of policies, procedures, and training materials
Must have:
- 2 years of compliance, risk assessment, or internal audit experience at a multinational company, U.S. defense contractor, or within the U.S. government focus on compliance assurance, compliance monitoring, and program testing
- Basic knowledge in regulatory areas of export, import, trade sanctions, anti-corruption, or government contracts
- Experience in compliance testing and monitoring
- Experience evolving internal auditing programs
- Experience with MS Office, Tableau, Power BI, or other digital reporting tools
- Experience with data analytics, metrics reporting, key performance indicators, key risk indicators
- Due to U.S. export control laws, must be a U.S. Person
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ability and interest in growing a sustainable, best-in-class compliance assurance program
- Aptitude for compliance
- Ability to interpret and understand the impact of regulatory changes
- Ability to work independently once tasks are assigned and to drive key initiatives
- Excellent skills in problem-solving
- Strong writing skills; experience in drafting reports, presentations
- Knowledge of SAP or ERP systems, including GTS compliance modules
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, well-organized, highly motivated
