We have an excellent career opportunity for a Program Lead - Hydrogen Projects in the UOP Process Technologies (UPT) located in Des Plaines, IL. This position will play a key and integral role in executing Hydrogen equipment projects for refining, petrochemical, and gas processing clients worldwide. The accountability of the Program Lead is to lead a team of inter-disciplinary experts to design, fabricate and deliver a finished process unit to the customer, and to meet budget and delivery schedules of assigned projects.
This role offers a hybrid working schedule and a Project Management Incentive Plan.
- Assume total project accountability which includes directing and coordinating the personnel assigned to perform the detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, and delivery for equipment projects
- Maintain customer communication from project Kick off meeting up the management of mechanical warranty issues
- Execute projects in accordance with the established work processes
- Develop, maintain, and implement a project plan and quality plan for each assigned project
- Setup and maintain SAP networks consistent with established reporting, forecasting and revenue recognition requirements. Manage SAP billing milestones to support accurate revenue forecasting
- Deliver projects on time and on or under budgeted costs in accordance with the contractual scope of the project
- Perform required project closeout procedures
- Report project metrics monthly to management
- Appraise team member performance, mentor, and provide constructive feedback throughout the project.
- Ensure that UOP safety procedures are implemented on each project
- Promote teamwork in project teams through positive leadership
- Travel approximately 10% to 20% annually to customer offices, detailed-design offices, and fabrication shops around the world as needed
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- 3 years engineering experience in the refining, petrochemical, EPC or chemical process industry

- Strong oral and written communications skills
- The ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Comprehensive problem-solving skills is considered key
- Ability to multi-task is required
- 7 years of experience in the refining, petrochemical, EPC or chemical process industry
