What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Design Engineer I position at Honeywell?
As a Mechanical Design Engineer I here at Honeywell, you will be part of the Turbomachinery and Heat Exchanger Analysis and Design group within the Mechanical Systems and Components (MS&C) directorate. This team is responsible for the design, development, and analysis of Environmental Control System (ECS) turbomachinery, heat exchangers, and electric traction drive motors.
In this role, you will perform stress, vibration, and heat transfer analyses to support product development across multiple programs. You will apply your engineering expertise to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements while adhering to Honeywell and customer standards. You will also contribute to design reviews, testing support, and process improvement initiatives, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and internal and external stakeholders.
You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Torrance, CA location on a Hybrid work schedule.
