What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Mfg Engineer II position at Honeywell?
As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in the manufacturing processes to support the production of our aerospace products. You will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing systems, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and quality within the production cell to which you are assigned. Your expertise in manufacturing engineering will contribute to the overall success of our operations.
You will report directly to our Manufacturing Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Tempe, AZ location on a 100% on-site work schedule. The Tempe site is within the Control Systems function of Honeywell Aerospace. Key products include Air Start Systems, Pneumatic Controls, and Electromechanical Actuation for a variety of both defense and commercial air, space, and marine applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a manufacturing engineer, you are the key technical resource for your assigned production area. You will be responsible for projects that support key productivity, quality, and cost-effective metrics and processes. The processes owned by manufacturing engineers include and are not limited:
- Validating and dispositioning defects from rejected products or customer returns
- Ensuring RTY (Roll Throughput Yield) targets are met and stable
- Internal defects are prevented by implementing systemic solutions (mistake proofing tools, process improvements, visual training)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production flow and resolve manufacturing issues from all functional groups (Assembly, Test, Inspection)
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of issues
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation and work instructions
- Develop and maintain productivity labor standards for operational technicians
