Job Description

The Director of Quality is responsible for leading the overall quality strategy, systems, and operations to ensure products meet the highest standards of compliance, performance, and customer satisfaction. This role oversees all Quality Control, Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Documentation, Calibration, and In‑Process Inspection activities. The Director will lead a multi‑disciplinary quality organization and work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations to embed quality throughout the product lifecycle.

Organizational Structure

The organization is composed of over 25 employees. The Director of Quality will have three direct reports:

  • Supplier Quality Manager – overseeing Receiving Inspection and Supplier Engineering
  • Manager of QA Support – responsible for Documentation Control, Calibration Lab, Quality Analyst, Corrective Action Systems, In‑Process Inspection, and monitoring QA Training records. In addition, Customer/Government Property audit assistance and property movement tracking will occur under this group.
  • Quality Engineering Manager – leading product quality engineering including Product data reviews and customer buy-off activities, Quality Auditing, First Article Report completions and reviews, and root‑cause analysis

Responsibilities

  • Define the quality vision, strategy, and roadmap for the organization, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and regulatory/customer requirements
  • Lead and mentor the Supplier QA Manager, QA Support Manager, and QE Manager to build a cohesive, high‑performing quality organization
  • Oversee Receiving Inspection, Supplier Engineering, in‑process inspection, calibration activities, documentation control, and quality engineering functions
  • Ensure effective supplier quality management, including supplier audits, qualification, performance monitoring, and corrective actions
  • Develop and manage quality metrics, dashboards, and executive‑level reporting
  • Lead investigations, root‑cause analyses, and corrective/preventive actions for product or process issues
  • Maintain and enhance ISO-9001 and AS9100 quality systems to comply with industry standards
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Program Management to ensure quality is built into design, production, and supplier processes
  • Lead internal and external audits, including customer audits and regulatory audits
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation control, calibration compliance, and inspection readiness

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering roles
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience managing diverse quality teams
  • Strong understanding of QC, QE, supplier quality, inspection processes, and documentation control systems
  • Experience in quality management systems, audits, and compliance frameworks
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross‑functional initiatives and quality improvements
  • Strong people leader able to develop and motivate multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Strategic thinker who can build long‑term quality capabilities
  • Collaborative partner who influences across organizational boundaries
  • Data‑driven decision‑maker with strong communication and executive presence
  • Ability to obtain security clearance.

WE VALUE

  • Experience in highly regulated industries (medical, aerospace, semiconductor, etc.)
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering, statistical process control, and root‑cause methodologies
  • Experience with calibration systems and supplier development programs
  • Experience with navigating challenging Raytheon Q-Note flow downs
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems and/or Siemens Teamcenter PLM systems

The annual base salary range for this position is $ 203,000 - $ 254,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
