Aerospace Systems Engineer I
As an Aerospace Systems Engineer I at Honeywell Aerospace, you will help developing the next generation of flight-critical actuation systems that enable the safe and precise control of aircraft. Working within Honeywell Aerospace's Mechanical Systems and Components Organization, you will contribute to technologies that translate electronic commands into precise mechanical motion for some of the aerospace industry's most demanding applications.
You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and test engineers to develop integrated aerospace systems that support:
You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Program Manager and work out of our Tempe, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule.

Aerospace Systems Engineer I
As an Aerospace Systems Engineer I at Honeywell Aerospace, you will help developing the next generation of flight-critical actuation systems that enable the safe and precise control of aircraft. Working within Honeywell Aerospace's Mechanical Systems and Components Organization, you will contribute to technologies that translate electronic commands into precise mechanical motion for some of the aerospace industry's most demanding applications.
You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and test engineers to develop integrated aerospace systems that support:
- Primary and secondary flight control actuation systems
- Electro-mechanical actuator development
You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Program Manager and work out of our Tempe, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and integration of aerospace electro-mechanical actuation systems.
- Assist with system requirements, documentation, and verification activities.
- Develop models and simulations using MATLAB/Simulink and related tools.
- Perform engineering analyses to evaluate system performance and functionality.
- Support the integration of motors, sensors, controllers, and embedded systems.
- Participate in laboratory, HIL, environmental, and qualification testing.
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and document findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout product development and testing.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
- 0-2 years of engineering experience, including internships, co-ops, research, or academic project experience.
- Knowledge of systems engineering processes, product development, or aerospace systems.
- Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
