Are you looking for flexible hours? We have part time day and night shifts options (1) 12 hour shift or (2) 12 hour shifts. Shift times are typically 7am-7pm & 7pm-7am but we do have some flexibility.
At Honeysuckle Home, we care for children in a place that feels like home — not a hospital. Honeysuckle Home is a transitional group home that will serve at-risk youth with special medical needs, age 0 to 18. Founded to bridge gaps of care during a child’s life, we will provide a safe and nurturing home-like environment with 24/7 nursing care and mental health support. Our home is full of love, laughter, and care, and we’re looking for compassionate, fun, and dedicated CNA /Child Wellness Aides (CWAs) to join us in creating a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
What You’ll Do:
As a CWA, you’ll be a vital part of our team, supporting both the children and the nursing staff in a warm, home-like setting. Each day is unique — filled with smiles, challenges, and meaningful moments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Helping with daily care: bathing, dressing, feeding, diapering, and grooming with kindness and respect for each child’s needs and experiences.
- Emotional connection: reading, playing, and engaging with children using trauma-informed, compassionate practices.
- Health support: monitoring vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure), observing changes, and communicating with the medical team.
- Documenting: keeping accurate, timely records of care and observations.
- Mobility & comfort: assisting children with moving, repositioning, and transferring safely and gently.
- Outings & activities: preparing kids for school, family visits, medical appointments, and group outings.
- Nutrition: preparing and serving home-cooked, nourishing meals that meet dietary needs.
- Teamwork: collaborating with nurses, behavioral health specialists, and other caregivers to ensure each child’s needs are fully met.
- Must be 21 or older
- Active CNA certification in good standing
- At least 2 years of pediatric experience (preferred)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (AHA or equivalent)
- Valid Illinois driver’s license & Insurance
- Able to pass background checks, fingerprinting, medical exams, and meet vaccination & TB test requirements
You’ll also need to successfully complete mandated reporter training and maintain all required licenses/certifications.
