At Honeyplate, we make scratch-made, chef-driven meals designed for real life — high-quality food, made fresh, delivered with consistency. We’re growing, and we need a strong kitchen presence who can both execute and step up when needed.
This is not just a prep role. This is a key support position to kitchen leadership — someone who can run a station, lead when needed, and grow into more.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Sous or Executive Sous-level cook who can:
- Execute at a high level during production
- Step in as shift leader / acting kitchen manager when needed
- Keep the team moving with urgency and standards
- Take direction — but also think ahead and solve problems
You’ll be working directly with ownership and leadership to help maintain consistency across hundreds of meals per cook.
Schedule
- Tuesday: ~6 hours
- Friday Saturday: 8–10 hours each
- Start time: 7:00 AM
- Total: ~20–25 hours/week
What You’ll Do
- Lead prep and production during assigned shifts
- Cook and execute recipes at scale with consistency
- Handle high-volume production cooking across multiple menu items
- Support and direct team members during service-style production
- Step in to run the kitchen when needed
- Maintain clean, organized, and efficient workstations
- Uphold food safety and quality standards
Core Skills (Non-Negotiable)
- Strong knife skills — clean, consistent cuts (dice, julienne, portioning, etc.)
- Comfortable working fast without sacrificing quality
- Experience with high-volume cooking environments
- Proficient on grill and sauté stations
- Ability to multitask across prep, hot line, and finishing
- Solid understanding of timing, batching, and workflow
