The Honeycomb Cafe is an LGBT owned and operated friendly neighborhood Cafe offering a from scratch menu and hand crafted espresso drinks. This is a fast paced position that requires someone who works well under pressure. We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented front of house manager to lead our FOH team.
In this role, you will oversee daily cafe operations, prepare espresso drinks, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain high standards for food safety and quality. Required for this position is management skills and barista experience. As a key leader, you will motivate your team, manage retail sales transactions, and uphold the integrity of our cafe. Your passion for coffee and food service will drive a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and satisfied. Management Responsibilities
- Building and sustaining a high performance team
- Supervise daily cafe operations, ensuring smooth workflow and excellent customer experiences
- Prepare espresso drinks using a manual espresso machine
- Lead and motivate baristas to deliver outstanding service and high-quality coffee and food offerings
- Oversee retail sales transactions using POS system
- Manage food safety protocols, including proper food handling, preparation, and sanitation standards
- Train team members on food industry best practices, POS usage, cash handling, and customer service techniques
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, food supplies, and other cafe essentials; coordinate stock replenishment as needed
- Enforce health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for both staff and customers
Barista Responsibilities
- Proven experience with barista duties
- Can prepare espresso drinks quickly, with quality and sanitation in mind
- Strong knowledge of POS systems
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse customer needs professionally
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to supervise staff effectively and foster teamwork
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management
- Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and food preparation techniques in a cafe or food industry setting
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
