Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Tractor Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in organic farming, biodynamic, farming, land, work, and land preparation and cultivation, maintenance, with a focus on operating various types of machinery. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient execution of our organic vegetable farm, which operates between March and December mostly and then is followed by general winter machine maintenance tasks. The Tractor Operator will work closely with other team members to deliver high-quality results in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Operate tractors and other heavy machinery for various landscaping and maintenance tasks.
- Perform all around agricultural work including mowing, cutting and baling hay and replanting old hay fields and snow plowing.
- Assist in landscape maintenance projects such as planting, irrigation installation.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for gardening and tree care tasks.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
- Experience in agriculture and horticulture practices. All organic.
- Proficiency in operating tractors, attachments, plows, brushhogs, disc harrowsand other heavy machinery.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems and gardening techniques.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of construction processes related to agricultural projects.
- Experience in snow plowing and tree care is a plus.
