Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation by slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients according to specified recipes and standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including slicers, mixers, ovens, and other culinary tools.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in accordance with food safety management protocols.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards in production, handling food safely and following proper sanitation procedures.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal assembly and ensure timely service.
- Help with food handling tasks such as plating dishes, garnishing, and assembling meals for service.
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
- Strong background in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of food industry standards.
- Skilled in food preparation techniques including slicing, dicing, and recipe adherence.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
