The Director of Project Management owns consistent, profitable execution across Honey Badger’s full project portfolio. This role leads the Project Managers, sets the bar for how projects get run here, and protects scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client experience from kickoff through install and closeout. This seat is the escalation point when risk shows up or handoffs break down, and will jump into day-to-day project management when the workload demands it, installs are high-stakes, key accounts need extra attention, or a project needs a rescue.
Responsibilities
Lead the PM team and build bench strength
- Sets clear expectations for PMs and holds the non-negotiables (cadence, documentation, change control, QC gates).
- Coaches by reviewing real outputs (monday.com boards, Fabrication Decks, client updates, meeting readiness) and giving direct, specific feedback.
- Owns onboarding, training, and performance management for PMs (including interview support and hiring recommendations).
- Plans PM coverage and workload balance, including owning projects when business requires.
Own the execution cadence and cross-functional alignment
- Makes sure the daily and weekly rhythms are real, effective, and actually followed: daily production meeting, kickoffs, install readiness reviews, post-mortems, etc.
- Holds PMs accountable to showing up prepared with status, risks, decisions needed, and next actions.
- Partners with CEO, Designer, Technical Director, and Production Manager to unblock work fast and call the tradeoffs when needed.
Own the project system of record
- Sets the standard for monday.com accuracy and completeness across all projects (owners, due dates, dependencies, daily updates, risks flagged early).
- Sets the standard for the Google Slides Fabrication Deck and makes sure it matches the current plan and scope.
Protect schedule, margin, and change control
- Forces early escalation of schedule and margin risk, with a recommended plan and clear owners.
- Enforces change control so scope shifts are documented, priced, and approved before work proceeds whenever possible.
Drive quality and install readiness
- Requires specific QC gates and makes sure sign-offs happen on time.
- Ensures PMs implement simple error-proofing checks for preventable misses.
Own communication standards when stakes are high
- Sets the standard for client updates: concise, decision-oriented, and on schedule (more frequent during fabrication and install windows).
- Steps into client communication and damage control on high-risk or high-visibility projects.
- Ensures approvals, decisions, and changes are documented in writing and stored in monday.com.

- Portfolio gross margin vs estimate (with documented variance drivers and prevention actions).
- QC gate completion rate (on-time gates, punch list closed before ship).
- Install success (completed within window, punch list size, post-install fixes required).
- monday.com accuracy (daily updates, correct owners, dependencies, risks flagged early).
- PM coverage and development (1:1 completion rate, onboarding completion, measurable PM improvement in weak areas).
