About the Position

Honest Air & Refrigeration Experts is looking for an experienced, dependable HVAC & Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician to join our growing team. We specialize in residential and commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial food service equipment.

The majority of our customers are restaurants and commercial food service businesses. We are looking for someone who has hands-on experience working with both hot-side and cold-side commercial kitchen equipment and can confidently diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and service equipment in the field.

This is not an entry-level position. We need a technician with the experience and knowledge to take a company vehicle, respond to service calls, communicate professionally with customers, and complete jobs independently with minimal supervision.

Job Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Service commercial kitchen equipment, including hot-side and cold-side equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, reach-in coolers, freezers, and other refrigeration systems.
• Service and repair commercial ice machines.
• Diagnose and repair commercial ovens, fryers, and other restaurant cooking equipment.
• Service kitchen hood exhaust fans and related ventilation equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance, identify equipment issues, and recommend necessary repairs.
• Accurately diagnose equipment problems and determine the appropriate repairs.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment issues, repairs, and service recommendations.
• Keep accurate service records and document work performed.
• Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle and properly care for tools and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, management, and other team members.
• Work safely, efficiently, and independently while representing the company professionally.

Required Qualifications

• Previous hands-on experience in HVAC, commercial refrigeration, and/or commercial kitchen equipment repair is required.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing commercial restaurant equipment is strongly preferred.
• Must be comfortable working with both hot-side and cold-side equipment.
• Must have the technical knowledge and practical experience to run service calls independently.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
• Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and professional.
• Must be able to troubleshoot problems and work independently without constant supervision.
• Must be comfortable working in active restaurant and commercial kitchen environments.
• Must be willing to travel between customer locations throughout the service area.

Schedule

• Full-time position, approximately 40 hours per week.
• Start times generally range from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, depending on the day’s schedule and service calls.
• Workdays and daily schedules may vary based on customer needs.
• Reliable attendance and flexibility are essential.
