What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dining Room Server position at Homewoods on the Willamette?
Homewoods on the Willamette is a non-profit provider of senior housing and services located on the Willamette River in Milwaukie, OR. We are looking for part-time wait staff to serve residents and guests in our family-style dining room. Staff work as a team to take resident orders, communicate orders to cooks, serve residents, bus tables, reset the dining room, and may work in the dish room as needed.
We are looking for applicants to work our breakfast and lunch meal services. This is a part-time position, around 30 hours per week. We are always looking for employees who have an interest in expanding to full-time work too, and have competitive benefits for employees working more than 20 hours per week.
Requirements:
- Serve residents and guests in a friendly, caring, positive fashion at all times
- Walk, bend, lift, reach, carry and hold on a continuous basis
- Work well with other team members
- Lift or push up to 30 lbs as needed, or 50 lbs occasionally, with accommodation if needed
- Ability to communicate clearly in English with staff, residents, and visitors
- Willing to have a background check and be drug tested
- Food handler’s certification (may be obtained after employment)
Preference will be shown to candidates who enjoy working with older adults, candidates that have previous work or equivalent experience that demonstrates excellent customer service, and candidates willing to work weekends and/ or holidays as assigned.
