Duties

• Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of hotel public areas, including hallways, lobbies, and restrooms, ensuring they meet cleanliness standards.
• Handle floor cleaning tasks using appropriate equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and mops to maintain pristine floor conditions.
• Support the housekeeping team by transporting linens, cleaning supplies, and equipment throughout the property safely through manual handling practices.
• Ensure all cleaning agents and chemical products are handled in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and proper chemical handling procedures.
• Perform janitorial duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitation of guest corridors and service areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of storage closets and supply rooms while managing inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Follow hotel emergency procedures during incidents or safety concerns to ensure guest and staff safety at all times.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in hotel housekeeping management or custodial/industrial cleaning roles is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including vacuuming, stripping, waxing, and polishing floors.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as buffers, extractors, and hand tools used in janitorial tasks.
• Ability to handle chemical agents safely while adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines.
• Strong manual handling skills for heavy lifting of furniture or cleaning equipment safely.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards guests and team members.
• Understanding of hotel emergency procedures and sanitation standards within a hospitality environment.
