What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Services Director position at Homewood Living Williamsport?
JOB SUMMARY:
Serves as the primary contact person for independent living residents following their move-in. Maximizes resident satisfaction in all phases of independent living. Oversees and provides management support to other positions as designated by the Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as well as personnel matters as confidential information.
- Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices.
- Assist residents in adjusting/acclimating to a new living environment
- Oversees the services of the independent living residents.
- Establishes a quality living environment through participation in the Community Residents Association and their various committees, whereby residents can maximize their potential for satisfaction, participation and socialization.
- Maintains communication with all levels of care in order to achieve appropriate level of care transfers within our community.
- Coordinates and implements resident orientation programs.
- Serves as back-up to the marketing department
- Assures maintenance, compliance and auditing of resident records in accordance with applicable regulations and corporate/facility policy.
- Fiscally responsible for the budgets of each department supervised in the areas of staffing and supplies.
- Responsible for managing, motivating, leading and supervising co-workers who report to this position.
- Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least a high school diploma and 3-years of experience working in a senior residential community.
- Possesses management experience and ability including skills in written and verbal communication, good judgment and reasoning and coaching.
- Have compassion, understanding and empathy for older persons.
- Understands management, delegation and motivational concepts.
- Must have qualities of leadership, initiative and dependability.
- Ability to communicate to residents at a level they can understand.
- Ability to use computer.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires extensive work using a computer. This position has physical and mental aspects of sedentary work in which lifting requirements are minimal. Occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or operate computers, objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
