Job Summary:

Provides a clean, orderly and safe living environment throughout the facility. Does the heavier functions in housekeeping.

Essential Functions:

1. Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential information.
2. Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices.
3. Responsible for proper operations and cleaning of housekeeping equipment in a safe manner.
4. Performs housekeeping functions in accordance with the Infection Control Program and understands the Right To Know Program.
5. Performs general daily cleaning (dusting, mopping, sterilizing, disinfecting, sweeping, etc.) in assigned work areas.
6. Keeps assigned areas furnished with supplies.
7. Assists in moving resident’s furniture and personal belongings.
8. Keeps furniture in an orderly and neat arrangement.
9. Assists the maintenance department in snow removal and other functions as necessary.
10. Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Ability to understand and follow oral and printed instructions.
3. High degree of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
4. Ability to do repeated pushing and pulling of sweepers and housekeeping carts, and lifting or carrying a minimum of 70 pounds throughout an eight hour shift.
5. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist and turn frequently throughout the course of an eight hour shift
6. Operates housekeeping and laundry machines, i.e. buffer, floor machines, wet vacs, washer, dryer, etc. When necessary, operate a snow blower or use of snow shovel for snow removal.
7. Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions and temperatures normally ranging from 0 to 100 F.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to constantly work on their feet during an 8 hour shift; bend, stoop, twist, and turn constantly throughout the shift in performing regular duties. Must be able to push and pull equipment and lift or transfer items weighing 70 pounds frequently throughout the shift. Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions and temperatures ranging from 0 to 100 degrees F.
