What are the responsibilities and job description for the PARKS GROUNDS WORKER position at HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR PARK DISTRICT?
JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Parks Foreman or assigned crew leader, the seasonal park maintenance worker performs various manual labor park maintenance and related tasks. The H-F Park District’s mission statement is “to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment”.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous and helpful service.
- Perform maintenance of park grounds including but not limited to weeding, mulching, watering, and trash pickup.
- Perform manual labor and custodial duties in all aspects of park facility maintenance.
- Report to supervisor any safety concerns noticed in parks and facilities.
- Must follow, administer and implement Homewood-Flossmoor Park District policies and guidelines.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Do general work at the parks department as required.
- Other related job duties as assigned.
COGNITIVE SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Like to work outdoors in all weather.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- High School graduate required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Evening, weekend and holiday work may be required.
