JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Fitness Operations Supervisor, the RFC Boxing Fitness Instructor will design and instruct safe and effective boxing-specific fitness classes for members of all fitness levels and ages. The RFC Boxing Fitness Instructor will also act as a liaison between members and the Fitness Operations Supervisor. The RFC Boxing Fitness Instructor will keep the Fitness Operations Supervisor informed of all problems and concerns. The H-F Park District's mission statement is "to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities, and parks while caring for the environment".

VISION: Must be able to watch students

- Adhere to RFC rules and policies.
- Keep Fitness Operations Supervisor Informed
- Communicate with students, and take an interest in them.
- Take attendance.
- Prepare class music and routine.
- Be punctual.
- Enforce Fitness Class policies.
- Attend Fitness staff meetings.
- Keep certifications current (including CPR)
- Keep track of hours; record hours by using time clock
- Develop appropriate lesson plans for class
- Find substitutes if unable to teach, inform Fitness Operations Supervisor.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual, Policy, and Procedure
- Other related job duties as assigned.
- Ability to relate to students' needs,
- Ability to modify exercises or offer alternatives
- Ability to recognize participants and their ability levels.
- Ability to recognize situations that require assistance and respond appropriately.
JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Monitor participants' exertion levels.
- Answer basic anatomy and physiology questions from participants.
- Use and demonstrate boxing equipment
- Adapt to unexpected situations with minimal disruption to class.
- Motivate participants.
- Teach safe, fun, and motivating classes.
- Boxing experience
- National Fitness Certifications preferred
- Minimum 1 year teaching experience preferred.
- Current CPR Certification.
