The Community Engagement Coordinator supports the fundraising, marketing, and community outreach efforts of Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center by helping to strengthen relationships with donors, supporters, volunteers, and the broader community. This position assists in developing and coordinating communications across multiple platforms, including email, social media, website content, and community outreach initiatives.
The Community Engagement Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director to help organize projects, coordinate communications, support fundraising campaigns and events, and ensure timely follow-up with community partners and supporters. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, tech savvy, creative, and passionate about animal welfare and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and distribution of donor and community communications
- Help coordinate fundraising campaigns, events, and outreach initiatives
- Support social media, email marketing, website content updates, and other digital communications
- Utilize and learn technology platforms related to donor engagement, marketing, and community outreach
- Foster positive relationships with donors, adopters, volunteers, and community partners
- Assist the Executive Director with project coordination, scheduling, and followup
- Track communications and engagement efforts to help support fundraising goals
- Collaborate with staff to promote organizational programs, events, and success stories
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Tech savvy and comfortable learning new software and digital platforms
- Experience with marketing, fundraising, customer service, or nonprofit outreach preferred
- Familiarity with social media, email marketing platforms, and basic CRM/database systems preferred
- Passion for animal welfare and community engagement
