As a Qualified Medication Aide, you'll play an important role in keeping our residents healthy, safe, and comfortable while making each day a little brighter.
Your responsibilities will include
- Administering medications in accordance with Indiana QMA regulations and facility policies.
- Assisting residents with daily care needs while promoting dignity and independence.
- Monitoring and reporting changes in residents' conditions to licensed nursing staff.
- Maintaining accurate medication administration documentation.
- Working closely with nurses and other team members to provide exceptional resident care.
- Building positive relationships with residents, families, and coworkers.
- Current Indiana Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) certification.
- A compassionate attitude and passion for resident care.

Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) Essential Functions
- The QMA is responsible for providing the medication administration, daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of the residents.
- QMA’s administer and document oral medications, eye medications, topical medications, suppository medications, ear drops and all others as ordered by the physician
- Perform treatments on minor skin conditions per physician orders
- Maintain locked medication cart and medication keys according to facility policy
- Check catheters frequently and providing catheter care as assigned by the nurse
- QMA’s will document all medications and treatments given in the medication record and in the nurses notes according to policy
- Maintaining the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights and privacy are protected at all times
- Performing other duties as assigned by staff nurse or designee
- Must be certified by the State Department of Health as a CNA in good standing
- Must have completed a state approved training program in medication administration and have current QMA certification by the State Department of Health
- Have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective nursing practices within the State of employment.
- A high school diploma or GED
