Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Air Conditioning Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, refrigeration, and mechanical maintenance, with experience in service, repair, and installation. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including HVAC design, property maintenance, and equipment repair across various settings. Candidates should possess excellent mechanical knowledge and field service experience, with the ability to interpret schematics and operate specialized tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment. A valid driver’s license is required for travel between job sites. This position is essential for maintaining optimal climate control systems and ensuring the efficient operation of HVAC equipment.
Duties
- Install, service, and repair air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, boilers, and other HVAC equipment
- Troubleshoot system issues using schematics, electrical testing tools, and mechanical diagnostics
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards
- Conduct repairs involving plumbing, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), and appliance repair as needed
- Read and interpret technical schematics and HVAC design plans for installation or troubleshooting purposes
- Utilize field service techniques to diagnose problems accurately and implement effective solutions
- Repair or replace mechanical components using welding, equipment repair tools, and other maintenance techniques
- Assist in property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems or general building upkeep
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs performed, and parts used
Skills
- Proven experience in construction, HVAC/R services, or property maintenance roles
- Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in refrigeration, plumbing, boiler operation, and appliance repair
- Ability to read schematics and understand HVAC design plans effectively
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other electrical testing equipment
- Skilled in equipment repair techniques including welding and general maintenance procedures
- Knowledge of field service operations with the ability to troubleshoot complex HVAC issues on-site
- Valid driver’s license (
driver) for transportation between job sites - Mechanical experience in boiler systems or as a mechanic is advantageous
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments requiring property maintenance or system repairs
