Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly
- Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist residents during meal times
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, sanitation, and organization of living spaces
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges - Document care activities accurately in resident records, including progress notes and incident reports
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR, First Aid, and emergency procedures to ensure resident safety at all times
- Collaborate with team members, healthcare professionals, and family members to develop and implement personalized care plans
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, group homes, nursing homes or home & community care settings preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks required for patient monitoring and transfers
- Excellent communication skills to effectively observe residents’ needs and document care activities accurately
- Compassionate attitude with a strong commitment to providing respectful resident support
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnight hours as needed
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive information
