Hometown Veterinary Partners was founded in 2023 with a mission to empower veterinary professionals by building veterinary hospitals that inspire, uplift, and fulfill. We are seeking full-time Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) to work right where you live in brand-new, bright, and beautiful veterinary hospitals.

As a Credentialed Veterinary Technician at Hometown Veterinary Partners (HVP), you’re a member of the hospital team and report directly to the Hospital Director or Partner Doctor. Veterinary Technicians will support our core beliefs of Culture, Collaboration, and Community. Veterinary Technicians are empowered to provide exceptional client care that is approachable, accessible, and individualized in your location. You’re a respected member of the team, and your skillset and ideas are important to have a successful hospital that advances medical care, client communication, teamwork, and marketing to build the HVP brand.

Our care teams have important roles in which they collaborate on successful outcomes and advancements in operations, pet care, and client services. We provide services six days/week, including appointments, scheduled surgeries, and preventive care days.

The responsibilities listed below are representative of the skills, knowledge, and teamwork expected of an LVT at HVP. As a growing organization, responsibilities may evolve to support patient care, client service, hospital operations, and team development.

Culture

  •  Deliver exceptional client service and patient care in every interaction. 
Community & Patient Care

  •  Welcome clients and pets in a friendly, compassionate, and professional manner. 
  •  Assist with patient intake, discharge, appointment scheduling, and client communication. 
  •  Obtain accurate patient histories, vital signs, and weights. 
  •  Safely restrain patients and assist during examinations, treatments, and procedures. 
  •  Perform laboratory testing, radiography, nursing care, and technical procedures as permitted by state practice acts. 
  •  Prepare, administer, and document medications and treatments as directed by the DVM. 
  •  Monitor, document, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia and sedation procedures. 
  •  Perform dental prophylaxis procedures with accuracy and attention to patient safety. 
  •  Triage emergencies and communicate patient needs effectively to the medical team. 
  •  Educate clients regarding medications, preventive care, nutrition, husbandry, and treatment plans as directed by the DVM. 
  •  Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical records. 
Collaboration & Hospital Operations

  •  Contribute ideas and feedback that support continuous improvement and hospital growth. 
  •  Participate in quality, safety, and patient care initiatives. 
  •  Review medical records to identify opportunities for preventive care, diagnostics, and treatment. 
  •  Assist where needed to support patient care, client service, and hospital operations. 
  •  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, including treatment areas, exam rooms, kennels, and equipment. 
  •  Support inventory, equipment maintenance, and operational tasks as assigned.

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, sitting, kneeling, and lifting up to 5lbs, for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to exercise patience and empathize with clients.
  • Ability to closely follow instructions when preparing and administering treatment to patients.
 Education & Licensure Requirements 
  • Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) required.
  •  Graduation from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology Program, or qualification for Minnesota veterinary technician licensure through an approved alternative pathway as recognized by the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine. 
  • Maintain all required licensure and continuing education requirements as mandated by state law. 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of veterinary or technician experience required.
