Hometown Tech — Walworth County, WI
Hometown Tech is a locally owned IT support and consulting company serving businesses, schools, and municipalities throughout southern Wisconsin. We’re a small team that values learning, collaboration, and delivering dependable technology solutions to our clients.
We’re looking for a Support Tech who enjoys working with technology, solving problems, and building real-world IT experience in both cloud and domain-based environments.
What You’ll Do
· Provide desktop, software, and basic network support for a variety of clients
· Support and assist with administration of Microsoft cloud and domain-controlled environments, including Microsoft 365, Azure AD (Entra ID), on-prem Active Directory, and hybrid setups
· Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and device access
· Troubleshoot login, access, and connectivity issues across cloud and on-prem systems
· Assist with Google Workspace administration and user support
· Troubleshoot and repair hardware, software, and network issues
· Work remotely from home and travel regularly to client sites in Walworth County and surrounding areas
· Collaborate closely with a System Architect and experienced team members
· Participate in an on-call rotation as needed
This role works in a mix of cloud-only, on-premises, and hybrid environments and offers hands-on experience managing all three.
What We’re Looking For
· A genuine interest in IT and technology
· Training or education in IT support concepts (formal work experience is preferred but not required)
· Familiarity with Microsoft cloud and domain environments such as Microsoft 365, Azure AD / Entra ID, and Active Directory
· Understanding of basic networking concepts (firewalls, switches, gateways, VLANs)
· General knowledge of Google Workspace
· Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in a fast-paced environment
· Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
Location & Travel Requirements
· Must be located in Wisconsin within approximately 30 miles of Sharon, WI
· Some flexibility for relocation timing may be considered
· Regular travel to client sites in Walworth County and surrounding areas
· Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
Schedule & Work Environment
· Full-time, salaried position
· Typical hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with some flexibility
· Occasional on-call responsibilities to support client needs
· No centralized office — work from home and at client locations
Pay & Benefits
· Salary range: $40,000–$45,000
