PACE Technician
The Pharmacy Technician for the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) supports the delivery of safe, timely, and accurate medication services for community-dwelling seniors. Working under the supervision of a PACE Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in medication preparation, coordination, delivery, and documentation, ensuring participants receive the right medications at the right time.
This role is essential to supporting medication adherence, minimizing errors, and maintaining smooth pharmacy operations within a highly collaborative, participant-centered care model.

Key Responsibilities
Medication Preparation & Distribution
- Assist in the preparation, packaging, labeling, and dispensing of medications in accordance with prescriptions, PACE standards, and pharmacy regulations.
- Support scheduled and local medication deliveries to PACE participants, including coordination with drivers and/or delivering individually.
- Prepare medications for multi-dose packaging, compliance packs, and special packaging needs.
- Ensure proper medication storage, handling, and inventory control.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Enter and maintain accurate prescription and participant information in pharmacy systems.
- Process prescription refills, renewals, and changes in coordination with the pharmacist.
- Maintain organized medication records and documentation required for PACE, Medicare, and Medicaid compliance.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and restocking medications and supplies.
Care Coordination & Communication
- Serve as a point of contact for medication-related coordination between the pharmacy, PACE center staff, and delivery services.
- Communicate medication changes, refill needs, and delivery schedules to appropriate pharmacy team members.
- Support transitions of care by assisting with medication reconciliation documentation and follow-up.
Participant & Caregiver Support
- Provide non-clinical medication support, including refill coordination, delivery scheduling, and basic medication instructions as directed by the pharmacist.
- Respond to participant and caregiver inquiries related to medication availability, packaging, and delivery.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all pharmacy policies, procedures, and safety protocols to prevent medication errors.
- Support quality improvement initiatives related to medication accuracy, timeliness, and participant satisfaction.
- Assist the pharmacist with audits, reporting, and regulatory documentation as needed.
