Job Description
Hometown Lawn Maintenance LLC is seeking reliable, hardworking individuals to join our team as Snow Shovelers / Lawn & Landscape Laborers. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, can adapt to changing weather conditions, and takes pride in maintaining properties to a high standard.
This role is seasonal and transitional, beginning with winter snow operations and moving into spring cleanups and summer landscaping services.
Winter Responsibilities (Snow Operations)
During winter months, employees will assist with snow and ice management for residential and commercial properties. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Shoveling sidewalks, walkways, steps, and entryways
- Operating snow blowers safely and efficiently
- Applying salt and ice melt to sidewalks, walkways, and other hard surfaces
- Assisting with loading, unloading, and picking up materials and supplies
- Working as part of a crew to ensure properties are cleared promptly and safely
- Being on call during snow events, including early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by weather conditions
Note: Snow events may require long hours, early start times, and flexibility. Employees must be dependable and ready to work when called.
Spring Responsibilities (Spring Cleanups)
As winter transitions into spring, duties shift to property cleanup and preparation, including:
- Spring cleanups (leaf removal, debris removal, bed cleanouts)
- Raking and bagging leaves and organic debris
- Assisting with mulch prep and general property refresh work
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment
Summer Responsibilities (Lawn & Landscaping)
During the landscaping season, employees will assist with routine lawn maintenance and landscaping services, including:
- Weed-eating (string trimming) around buildings, fences, and landscape beds
- Operating backpack blowers to clean sidewalks, driveways, patios, and other hard surfaces
- Assisting with general landscaping tasks as needed
- Maintaining a clean and professional appearance at job sites
Schedule & Availability
- Early morning start times are common
- On-call availability required during snow events
- Hours vary based on weather and workload
- Some days may be short; others may require extended hours
- Weekend and holiday availability may be required, especially during winter
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
- Comfortable working outdoors in cold, hot, wet, and snowy conditions
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous landscaping or snow removal experience is a plus, but not required
