Position Summary: The Area Leader will manage the plant material handling team. Coordinate and determine staffing levels of the material handling team Provide technical leadership and ensure team has the technical resources needed to complete their requirements. Ensure the team reaches their goals and completes all duties, MSS, GMP corrections, and all other assignments required. |
Key Responsibilities: - Build and sustain effective relationships with leadership, peers, & subordinates.
- Work with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance Leaders, to ensure business needs are met and assist with any issues that may arise.
- Embrace and encourage material handling team towards strong ethical values of honesty, respect, trust, responsibility and fairness. Encourage material handling team to take ownership of their respective processes and responsibilities.
- Works with material handling team to address safety concerns and assist in resolution.
- Technical resources for material handling team. Coordinate equipment and vendor support for the material handling team.
- Set team goals and encourage the material handling team towards goal completion.
- Responsible for development, administration and communication of Team scorecards in collaboration with material handling team.
- Responsible for ensuring warehouse is always audit ready, establish and maintain GMP corrective actions.
- Lead Focus improvement, TPM and continuous improvement projects.
- Coordinate skill set training as appropriate for the material handling team.
- Participate in vendor relations and problem solving
- Coordinate with finance on month and year end closing
- Accountable for maintaining and correcting receipt errors
- Manage return to vendor and obsolete transactions accuracy
- Attend DDS, Maintenance, and Scheduling meetings, provide input and function as point of contact for the material handling team.
- Run daily team meetings and ensure pertinent information is relayed to team.
- Implement associate rewards & discipline as appropriate.
