What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Service Manager position at Hometown Electrical Services?
Own the Field. Build the Team. Grow the Business.
We're a growing electrical company and we're looking for a driven leader to run our field operations and help shape what this company becomes. This isn't a seat-warmer role — it's a chance to put your fingerprints on a business on the rise, lead a tight crew, and be rewarded when the numbers move in the right direction.
You'll be the engine behind our field operations: leading technicians, closing work, and building the systems that let us scale. If you love being in the field, thrive on hitting numbers, and want real ownership over how a company runs, keep reading.
What You'll Own
Field Leadership
You'll lead our electricians and apprentices — and the hires who come after them. Roughly half your time is in the field, on job sites, making sure the quality and professionalism carry our name well. You'll coach, train, and develop your team, with full authority to build the crew you want.
Sales & Estimating
You're our primary estimator and closer on both service and project work. You'll sharpen your technicians' eyes for opportunities in the field, and drive the metrics that matter — close rates and average ticket size.
Operations & Process
Working shoulder-to-shoulder with the Office Manager, you'll keep jobs moving from scheduling to completion, get the most out of Housecall Pro for tracking, estimating, and invoicing, and build the processes that let us grow without the wheels coming off.
Financial Accountability
You'll own the KPIs that drive the business: job profitability, revenue per tech, average ticket, callback rate, and reviews. You'll watch job costing closely and keep work on budget.
Customer Experience
You're the go-to when a customer concern needs a steady hand, and the one who turns callbacks into corrective action and higher standards.
Growth & Team Building
We're a 4-person team today with real ambitions. You'll help us grow — recruiting, hiring, and training the technicians who'll take us there.
What You Bring
Experience as a service electrician, service manager, or in a similar leadership role. Strong command of residential and/or light commercial electrical work. A proven track record estimating, closing, and leading field teams. Comfort with dispatch, scheduling, job costing, and service software (Housecall Pro a plus). Above all, strong leadership, clear communication, and an accountability mindset.
What We Offer
Competitive base salary (based on experience), plus a semi-annual performance bonus tied directly to the KPIs you control. Company vehicle and phone. A true leadership seat with real influence over the company's direction — and room to grow as we do.
Benefits include a 401(k) with retirement plan and paid time off.
The Environment
A roughly 50/50 field-and-office split. Standard business hours — no on-call. Direct partnership with the Office Manager. A fast-paced, growth-minded shop where your work shows up in the results.
